for the website, the business and me…

I finally updated my website! I am constantly telling my clients to update, write, add and change their sites, but rarely do I do that myself. Kind of a shoemakers barefoot children thing. So I am starting the year with a new look and an up-to-date site!

Since my New Year Resolutions did not have to include LOSE WEIGHT (the first time in over 27 years!) I had room to add “blog” and show completed projects on my website and FB page. Since it took me 27 years to finish the weight thing, I don’t hold out a lot of hope for the updating thing. My only other resolution was more acts of random kindness. That, given the opportunity, I know I can do.

I also FINALLY set up a domain and hosting “store” so now people can get there domains and plans through me. I’m charging about the same as Go Daddy, but with clients especially it’s so much easier to have direct access to their accounts. Plus, for them, no up charge!

I hesitated to post a photo, but I always post a finished picture for the blog. So after some consideration, I decided at least it’s not a BEFORE picture. That is so not going to happen. I hit my goal weight well before Christmas (and continue to lose slowly). I am down officially 42 lbs. How I let myself gain 42 lbs is the fodder for a different long series of blogs…I used the old fashioned calories in, calories out method. Portion control, exercise, blah, blah, blah. But I did add 3 new things that really worked for me. I bought a Vivofit and made sure I get my walking/running in. I use the heart rate strap when I work out. It’s great because you can see how many calories you’ve burned so you can stay under that for intake. My plan was to lose 1 pound a week. That’s all. So by my math (which you know is always sketchy) I needed a 500 calorie swing every day either in diet or exercise. I also started taking Vitamin D. If you are not taking it you should be! Especially women. It works. I also added green tea to my daily (mostly) plan. I only like Starbucks Green Tea Lemonade (slightly sweetened) so by walking the mile there and back every day kills those two proverbial birds. I’m not going to stop doing what I’ve been doing. I know that my Dr. would say I need to lose another 10. My plan is to keep losing and not gain. Easy, right?

On the home front we are playing our own little game of Love it or List it. Ben is thrilled or more accurately $tre$$ed. I would just like the main floor to function better and have enough room to seat 12 people at the dining table. We hired an architect. But as I know some of you are thinking, I should hire a therapist. Maybe both! I’ll try and keep you posted.

Questions and comments are always welcome, though sometimes ignored 🙂
Happy New Year (on January 16th!) I’m clearly off to a slow start!
